Mission
Precision prompts, deterministic answers. Enterprise security first—so regulated teams can explain with a source, or hear an honest decline.
Explico® Development builds enterprise security software. The Explico® Intelligent Assistant (IA) delivers answers from human-curated, deterministic knowledge domains—Subject Matter Expert (SME)–reviewed material with traceable provenance—and declines when an answer cannot be confirmed. Legal research for United States enterprises is our first production domain; signed-in evaluation uses a public-domain 1911 Encyclopædia Britannica corpus under historical notices. The same engineering discipline applies as we add domains and deployment options.
Explico® is Latin for we explain. We are not building a generalist that optimizes for fluent language. We are building a specialist: scoped questions, prepared records, and the same well-formed question returning the same sourced result—repeatable in a meeting, defensible in a memo, trustworthy under review.
Human curation, deterministic knowledge
Each knowledge domain is a curated body of approved pairings, notices, and source metadata—not a model trained to improvise. SMEs and legal engineers govern what enters a domain; releases are versioned and gated before they become answers customers rely on. When the curated record is incomplete or ambiguous, the assistant clarifies or declines instead of guessing.
Optional generative synthesis, where entitlements allow, is labeled clearly, cites its context, and sits behind hard-stop defaults and explicit consent. The primary path remains deterministic, auditable, and aligned with the domain’s notices—including, for legal content, that outputs are legal research, not legal advice.
Privacy and your data
Secure interactions are not used to train Explico® knowledge domains on your prompts, documents, or work product. Tenant boundaries, encryption, and zero-trust access checks apply on every request. We may use aggregated, minimized signals to spot gaps in curated coverage for SME review—we do not treat customer content as training fuel for shared models.
One product path today: secured shared service
We ship on a zero-trust secured multi-tenant shared service for individuals, teams, and enterprise customers—strict per-organization isolation, encryption, verify-every-request access, and exportable audit evidence. We do not sell on-premises hardware as a product offering today. The Laboratory reports ongoing research toward a hardened on-premises appliance direction for workflows that may never fit a shared plane; that research does not change what we sell now.
Values that decide the product
- Declining beats guessing. A clear decline beats a confident wrong answer.
- Provable provenance. Show the source and date, or do not present the answer as verified.
- Data sovereignty. Your organization’s knowledge and keys stay inside your chosen boundary.
- Verify every request. Access is checked every time—not assumed from the network or the UI.
- Security before shortcuts. Features ship when the controls that make this mission true are in place.
What we refuse to do
- Present generated text as if it were an approved, SME-reviewed source.
- Answer requests for professional advice (“what should we do?”) as research.
- Commingle one customer’s data, keys, or corpus with another’s.
- Ship features that raise fluent guessing at the expense of verification and notice discipline.
